Freezer fan (BLDC) motor error
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
Reset the unit and enter TEST MODE 1 (push test button 1 time).
- 2
Measure fan motor supply voltage at CON4 pins 20 to 19. Expected: 11.4–12.6V.
- 3
If supply voltage is not 11.4–12.6V: replace Main PCB.
- 4
If supply voltage is correct: open freezer door and check air flow. If air is not blowing (not windy): proceed to check motor.
- 5
If air flow is present but weak: check fan feed-back voltage at CON4 pins 18 to 19 in TEST MODE 1. Expected: not 0V or 5V (should be variable).
- 6
If feedback voltage is 0V or 5V: change freezer fan motor.
- 7
If feedback voltage is correct but motor is suspect: check fan PWM voltage at CON4 pins 17 to 19. Expected: not 0V or 5V.
- 8
If PWM voltage is 0V or 5V: replace Main PCB.
- 9
Physically rotate fan blade by hand. If fan feels sticky or stiff: replace fan motor.
- 10
If all voltages are correct and fan rotates freely: explain situation to customer.
