A secondary temperature sensor is giving bad readings
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tC5
What This Means
Clogged lint screen restricting airflow; Restricted vent system causing heat buildup; Thermistor 2 resistance out of range (open or shorted); Faulty wiring connection between thermistor 2 and main PCB
What actually causes this:
Similar to the main temperature sensor error — usually caused by lint buildup restricting airflow, or the sensor itself has worn out.
First Thing to Check
Clean the lint screen thoroughly and make sure the exhaust vent path is clear.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check for a clogged lint screen and clean if necessary
- 2
2. Check if the vent system is restricted — inspect exhaust duct
- 3
3. Measure the thermistor 2 resistance: should be 238.23K ohm at 25 deg C (77 deg F)
- 4
4. If thermistor resistance is out of range, replace thermistor 2
- 5
5. Check wiring harness for loose or damaged connections
