What This Means
Restricted airflow causing compressor to overheat; Refrigerant system problem; Compressor mechanical failure; Heat exchanger severely clogged; Ambient temperature too high for heat pump operation
What actually causes this:
Most often caused by a clogged exhaust vent that traps hot air inside the dryer, or the heating element has burned out.
First Thing to Check
Check your exhaust vent — disconnect it from the back of the dryer and look for lint buildup inside.

4. Verify ambient temperature is within operating range

5. Check compressor top thermistor: 200 kOhm +/-3% at 25 degrees C

6. If compressor is mechanically failed, replace compressor assembly
