Error Code 23C
Condenser fan motor in the machine compartment is not running
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: 23C
What This Means
Feedback signal wire loose or broken at CN20; Condenser fan motor winding open or short; Fan blade obstructed by debris; Loss of 7V–12V supply to condenser fan
What actually causes this:
The fan that cools the condenser and compressor at the back of the refrigerator has stopped, which will eventually cause the compressor to overheat.
First Thing to Check
Pull the refrigerator away from the wall and listen — if the compressor is running but there is no fan noise from the bottom rear, the condenser fan may have failed.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Measure voltage between Main PCB CN20 PIN 22 and PIN 24; should be DC 7V–12V
- 2
Check pulse signal at CN20 PIN 20 when fan is spinning
- 3
Inspect condenser fan area for debris or obstructions
- 4
Replace condenser fan motor if supply voltage is correct but motor does not run
