Error Code COMP-START-FAIL
Compressor cannot start up
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: Inverter LED blink: Starting Failure pattern
What This Means
Short circuit between compressor U, V, or W phase terminals; Short between IPM pins 1–26; IPM operating voltage dropped below DC 13.5V; Compressor windings shorted or open; Refrigeration cycle issue (high back pressure)
What actually causes this:
The compressor motor failed to start, which could mean a failed compressor, a problem with the drive electronics, or a refrigerant pressure issue preventing startup.
First Thing to Check
Wait at least 10 minutes after the last shutdown, then try running the unit in forced operation mode to see if the compressor will start.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Wait at least 10 minutes after last compressor shutdown before attempting restart
- 2
Check for shorts between compressor terminals U, V, and W
- 3
Check for shorts among IPM pins 1–26 on Inverter PCB
- 4
Verify 15VDC at C501 (ZD501) on Inverter PCB
- 5
Verify 220VAC at CN81 on Inverter PCB
- 6
Check refrigeration cycle for blockage or excessive back pressure
- 7
Replace Inverter PCB if power voltages are correct but compressor still does not start
