What This Means
Damper heater wire disconnected at CN40; Damper heater element burned out; Short or open in heater wiring
What actually causes this:
The small heater that keeps the air damper from icing up has burned out or its wiring has come loose.
First Thing to Check
Unplug the unit and measure resistance across the damper heater leads — you should read about 24 ohms.

Disconnect Main PCB CN40 connector
- 3
Measure resistance between CN40 PIN 25 and PIN 27
- 4
Expected: 24 ohm ±7% (approximately 22.3–25.7 ohm)

0 ohm = heater short; infinite ohm = open wire or heater failure
