What This Means
Defrost heater element shorted (0Ω reading); Defrost heater wire open circuit (∞Ω reading); Bimetal protector defective; Harness damaged or disconnected; Main PBA relay defective
What actually causes this:
The heater element burned out or the wire connection is broken
First Thing to Check
Check if frost accumulates excessively on freezer evaporator coils — indicates heater failure

How to Fix

1. Unplug refrigerator and wait 5 minutes

2. Disconnect MAIN PCB CN20 wire from PCB
- 3
3. Measure resistance between CN20 pins 6 and 8 with multimeter (power must be OFF)

4. Should read 63Ω ± 7% (115V model) or 230Ω ± 7% (230V model)
- 5
5. If 0Ω: heater short-circuited; if ∞Ω: heater wire open
