Error Code AMBIENT-SENSOR
External ambient temperature sensor is faulty
Minor
Usually easy to fix - may resolve on its own
Also displayed as: Indicated via self-diagnosis
What This Means
Bad connector at CN60 pins 3 and 5; Open or short in ambient sensor wiring; Failed thermistor; PCB solder defect at R228
What actually causes this:
The sensor reading room temperature has failed, which can cause the fridge to run fans at wrong speeds or not respond to ambient heat properly.
First Thing to Check
Check the connector at CN60 and reseat it firmly.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Measure voltage at MAIN PCB CN60-'3' <-> '5': should be between 1.0V and 4.5V
- 2
Disconnect CN60 and measure resistance at CN60-'5' ↔ '3'
- 3
Check soldering at R228 (IC01 MICOM #12)
