Error Code COMP-START-FAILURE
Compressor tried to start but failed due to electrical or mechanical fault
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: LED blinks per inverter protection table
What This Means
Short between compressor U, V, W phase terminals (CN102); Short among IC3 (IPM) pins 1-24; IPM operating voltage dropped below DC 13.5V; Compressor winding fault; Failed refrigeration cycle (blocked)
What actually causes this:
The compressor could not start, either because of an electrical short, a failed component on the inverter circuit board, or the compressor itself is seized.
First Thing to Check
Unplug the fridge for 10 minutes and plug back in — normal operation resumes if it was a transient fault.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check for short between compressor terminals CN102
- 2
Check IPM voltage — must be above DC 13.5V
- 3
Check for short between IPM pins 1-33
- 4
Inspect inverter PCB soldering for bridged joints
- 5
Check compressor and refrigeration cycle for mechanical blockage
