Error Code 24
Frost and ice cannot be melted from freezer evaporator coils
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: 24
What This Means
Defrost heater element open or shorted; Disconnected heater wires at CN70; Bimetal thermostat failure; PCB relay failure
What actually causes this:
Defrost heater burned out or wiring came loose
First Thing to Check
Check that the defrost heater connector is fully seated and not damaged
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Separate MAIN PCB CN70 wire from PCB
- 2
Measure resistance between CN70 Brown and CN72 Black (power off)
- 3
Expected: 63 ohm ±7% (variance due to input power voltage)
- 4
0 ohm = heater short, infinite = open circuit or broken wire
This Error Applies To
