What actually causes this:

Ice jam blocking the mechanism, seized geared motor, or wiring fault

First Thing to Check

Press ice maker test switch and observe for motor rotation and completion tone

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Remove ice bucket and press ice maker test switch for over 1.5 seconds

  2. 2

    Listen for motor sequence: CCW rotation, CW rotation, heater on, water supply, home position

  3. 3

    Listen for 'Ding Dong' completion tone within 6 minutes

  4. 4

    If no tone, check MICOM IC01 pin #22 input voltage (should be 4.9V during rotation)

  5. 5

    Check IC01 pin #90 (test switch): should change to 0V when pressed
