Error Code 1C
Freezer temperature sensor is reading an impossible value
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: 1C
What This Means
Sensor housing has separated from its mounting; Incomplete electrical contact at connector; Open-circuited wire in sensor harness; Short-circuit in sensor or wiring
What actually causes this:
Usually a disconnected or broken sensor wire, or the sensor itself has pulled out of its clip in the freezer compartment after servicing
First Thing to Check
Open the freezer evaporator cover and verify the sensor connector is fully seated in its housing
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check the voltage between Main PCB CN20 pins 10 and 12 — should be within 4.5V to 1.0V range for normal operation
- 2
Inspect sensor housing to confirm it is seated properly
- 3
Check for continuity in the sensor wire harness
- 4
Measure sensor resistance and compare to temperature/resistance table
