Error Code 24
FlexZone defrost heater did not complete defrost cycle in 120 minutes
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: 24
What This Means
Flex Room defrost heater housing disconnected; Contact error in heater circuit; Open-circuited defrost heater wire; Short-circuited defrost heater; Blown thermal fuse (thermo-fuse at 109°C)
What actually causes this:
The thermo-fuse has blown or the defrost heater has burned out, preventing ice from melting off the FlexZone evaporator.
First Thing to Check
Check if the thermo-fuse has continuity (it should read near 0 ohms when good — infinity means it has blown).
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Separate CN2 wire from FUSE BLOCK
- 2
Check resistance between CN2 pins 3 and 7
- 3
For 0 Ohm: heater is short-circuited — replace heater
- 4
For infinity Ohm: wire or temperature fuse is open — check thermo-fuse continuity
- 5
Verify bimetal thermostat operation (Off: 60°C / On: 40°C)
