Error Code CE7
Compressor power module overheated and shut down
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: CE7
What This Means
IPM temperature exceeds 120°C; Discrete IC on inverter PCB overheating; Heat-sink not properly attached to IPM; Machine compartment fan not running (poor ventilation)
What actually causes this:
Poor machine compartment ventilation or a failed condenser fan is causing the inverter board to overheat.
First Thing to Check
Listen for the machine compartment fan running — if silent with the compressor on, that is the cause.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check IPM temperature indicator on inverter PCB
- 2
Verify heat-sink assembly is properly attached to IPM
- 3
Confirm machine compartment fan (C-FAN) is operating
- 4
Check for blocked ventilation in machine compartment
