What This Means

Connector Slipped-Out or Open-Contact; Wire Cut or Short-Circuited; Abnormal Sensing Temperature (above +50°C or below -50°C)

What actually causes this:

The freezer defrost sensor failed, so the system can't tell when to start or stop the defrost cycle.

First Thing to Check

Locate the defrost sensor near the freezer evaporator and check for loose connections.

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Measure voltage between MAIN PCB CN30 #4 and #7

  2. 2

    Voltage should be within range 4.5V to 1.0V

  3. 3

    During defrost, sensor should read lower than -5°C
