Freezer compartment temperature sensor is open or shorted

Critical

Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue

Also displayed as: -19 deg C LED Lamp blinking

What This Means

Connector slipped out or poor contact; Wire cut or short circuit; Abnormal sensing temperature above +65 deg C or below -50 deg C; Defective thermistor

What actually causes this:

Disconnected, damaged, or failed freezer thermistor

First Thing to Check

Check CN30 connector seating; measure voltage at CN30 pins 14 and 16

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Check MAIN PCB CN30 connector is properly inserted

  2. 2

    Measure voltage between MAIN PCB CN30 pin 14 and pin 16

  3. 3

    Voltage should be within 4.5V to 0.5V

  4. 4

    0V indicates short circuit; 5V indicates open circuit

  5. 5

    Refer to DATA1 Temp Table for resistance vs temperature values

  6. 6

    Replace sensor if out of range and connectors are verified good
