What This Means

What actually causes this:
A small item like a coin, hair clip, or sock got past the tub and is jamming the drain pump, or the drain hose is kinked.
First Thing to Check
Check that the drain hose at the back of the washer is not kinked or pinched, and make sure the end is positioned correctly in the drain.

1. Check drain pump resistance: should be 13.5 to 16.5 ohms.

2. Check if there is any alien substance inside the draining pump motor.

3. Check natural drain in the same manner.

4. Check for incorrect connections or broken wires.

5. If the machine malfunctions intermittently when wash tub water temperature is high, replace the pump.

6. If the motor stops due to frozen water in winter, remove frozen water per repair procedures.

7. If the drain pump is defective, replace it.
