What This Means

What actually causes this:
Something is clogging the drain — usually lint buildup, a small garment, or a coin got stuck in the pump

Check that the drain hose behind the washer is not kinked or bent sharply

1. Check the drain hose for kinks, clogs, or incorrect positioning

2. Clean the mesh debris filter

3. Check for any alien substances inside the draining pump motor
- 4
4. Measure the drain pump resistance — should be 13.5 to 16.5 ohms

5. Check for incorrect connections or broken wires to the drain pump

6. If the machine malfunctions intermittently when wash tub water temperature is high, replace the pump

7. If the motor stops due to frozen water in winter, remove the frozen water
- 8
8. Turn off the washer, unplug it, wait one minute, and plug it back in
