The washer's water heater isn't working properly

What This Means

Washing heater is short-circuited or has a wire disconnected; Washing heater in the tub has an error (contact error, temperature sensor fault); Water level sensor operates without water because water is frozen; Temperature sensor at bottom detects 100-150°C causing power off for overheating protection; PBA relay malfunction (if heater has no error); Heater engagement fault (out of place)

What actually causes this:

The heating element burned out or a wire came loose from the heater

First Thing to Check

If you don't need hot water for your load, try running a cold-water cycle to see if the washer works otherwise

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. TYPE 1 [FRONT]: Check the resistance between A and B on the heater — should be 16.05 Ohm ±0.65

  2. 2

    2. Check for connection between wire and heater

  3. 3

    3. If wash heater is faulty, replace it

  4. 4

    4. If TYPE 1 is OK, refer TYPE 2

  5. 5

    5. TYPE 2 [BACK]: Check the wash-thermistor at back of Tub — change if faulty

  6. 6

    6. If heater tests normal, check for PBA relay malfunction
