Error Code 3C
The washing machine motor is not spinning properly.
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: 3C
What This Means
PBA connector terminal not connected; Motor spin net not engaged; Motor internal coil damaged (short-circuited or cut); Foreign material (screw) entered the motor; Foreign material between pulsator and bowl constraining motor; Motor overloaded due to too much laundry (3C1); PBA fault — weak motor driving, unstable relay (3C2); IPM terminal of main PBA not connected (3C3); DD motor cover out of place (3C3); PCB housing terminal not connected (3C4); DD motor fault (3C4); Pulsator motor fault (3CP)
What actually causes this:
Usually caused by an overloaded drum (too much laundry), a stuck foreign object jamming the drum, or a loose wiring connector at the motor.
First Thing to Check
Reduce the laundry load to about half, then try running the cycle again.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check the motor power connector terminal connections and contacts
- 2
2. Verify motor power cable and power connector are present
- 3
3. Check resistance on main PCB motor connector: between pins 1-3 and 1-2 of the 3-pin power connector — resistance approx. 2 to 10 MOhm
- 4
4. Check resistance on motor power housing connector: any 2 of 3 terminals should read 5.0-6.1 Ohm
- 5
5. Check voltage at connector 'A' when power is on
- 6
6. For 3C1: check if overloaded with too much laundry
- 7
7. Check whether stator of motor cover is damaged
- 8
8. Check for coil disconnections due to foreign material
- 9
9. If PBA control circuit is faulty, replace the PBA
