Error Code tC5
A secondary temperature sensor is giving bad readings
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tC5
What This Means
Compressor top thermistor resistance out of range; Heater thermistor resistance out of range; Compressor overheating; Thermistor wiring fault
What actually causes this:
Similar to the main temperature sensor error — usually caused by lint buildup restricting airflow, or the sensor itself has worn out.
First Thing to Check
Clean the lint screen thoroughly and make sure the exhaust vent path is clear.

3. Measure comp top thermistor resistance: should be 200 kOhm +/-3% at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F)
- 4
4. Measure heater thermistor resistance: should be 3.16 kOhm +/-3% at 150 degrees C or 238.23 kOhm +/-7.5% at 25 degrees C
