Also displayed as: HS

What This Means

Moisture/electrode sensor failure; Harness connector loose

How to Fix

  1. 1

Turn off dryer and call for service

  2. 2

For technician: turn off power and discharge voltage before measuring

  3. 3

Remove NA6 connector from controller; short pin 3 (Orange Wire) and pin 2 (Blue Wire) together

  4. 4

Measure resistance in electrode load circuit with door closed; expect below 10 Ω when short is applied

  5. 5

If resistance is not below 10 Ω with short: check electrode load and harness connector; check harness-linking connector

  6. 6

Apply damp cloth to electrode sensors in drum; in diagnostic test verify IMC display value is 50–130 (2.5 V DC) at 70–40% moisture

  7. 7

Measure voltage between NA6 pin 3 (Orange) and pin 2 (Blue); should be 2.5 V DC for wet clothes, above 4.0 V DC for dry clothes

  8. 8

If sensor readings are out of range, check electrode sensor connector at front bulkhead and replace electrode sensor if damaged

  9. 9

If readings pass but HS persists, replace controller
