What This Means

Outlet thermistor open or shorted; Harness connector at NA6 pin loose or disconnected; Defective main PCB

How to Fix

  1. 1

Enter diagnostic test mode: unit in standby, press Power, then press More Time and Less Time simultaneously for 0.5 seconds

  2. 2

Press START/PAUSE once to advance to thermistor check step

  3. 3

Turn off power and disconnect dryer before measuring resistance

  4. 4

Remove NA6 connector from the controller

  5. 5

Short pin 2 (Blue Wire) and pin 3 (Orange Wire) of the NA6 connector together with a metal jumper

  6. 6

If controller shows no error with pins shorted: check that NA6 connector and 6-pin harness are properly connected to controller; if OK, replace controller

  7. 7

If short test does not clear fault: separate harness from thermistor assembly connector and measure resistance between thermistor terminals

  8. 8

    Compare measured resistance to Table 1 values: at 50°F (10°C) expect 18.0 kΩ, at 70°F (21°C) expect 11.7 kΩ, at 90°F (32°C) expect 7.7 kΩ, at 104°F (40°C) expect 6.2 kΩ

  9. 9

If resistance is out of range, replace thermistor assembly

  10. 10

If resistance is in range, check and reseat harness-linking connector between thermistor and controller
