Error Code tE1
Thermistor of blower housing open or shorted
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tE1
How to Fix
- 1
Enter diagnostic test mode: unit in standby, press Power then simultaneously press More Time and Less Time for 0.5 seconds.
- 2
If tE1 displays during diagnostics, disconnect power immediately.
- 3
Remove the NA6 connector from the controller.
- 4
Short the 6-pin NA6 connector Pin 4 (Blue Wire) and Pin 3 (Orange Wire) together with a metal jumper.
- 5
If the tE1/tE2 error clears after shorting, the wiring to the controller is intact — check that NA6 connector and the 6-pin connector are properly connected to the controller.
- 6
If error persists after shorting, reconnect connector and measure resistance between the thermistor terminals after disconnecting the thermistor harness.
- 7
Compare resistance to Table 1: at 50°F (10°C) expect 18.0 kΩ; at 70°F (21°C) expect 11.7 kΩ; at 80°F (27°C) expect 9.3 kΩ; at 90°F (32°C) expect 7.7 kΩ; at 100°F (38°C) expect 6.2 kΩ; at 110°F (43°C) expect 5.2 kΩ; at 120°F (49°C) expect 4.3 kΩ; at 130°F (54°C) expect 2.9 kΩ; at 140°F (60°C) expect 3.0 kΩ; at 150°F (66°C) expect 2.5 kΩ; at 160°F (71°C) expect 2.2 kΩ.
- 8
If resistance is outside range, replace the thermistor assembly.
- 9
If resistance is within range, check and re-seat the harness linking connector between thermistor and controller.
- 10
If all wiring checks pass and error persists, replace the main controller board.
