How to Fix

1. 1

   Activate diagnostic test mode: press Power, then simultaneously hold More Time and Less Time for 0.5 seconds.

2. 2

   Advance through diagnostics with START/PAUSE; tE4 is shown only in test mode.

3. 3

   If tE4 is present, the steam generator thermistor has failed.

4. 4

   The thermistor is integral to the steam generator assembly — replace the entire steam generator unit.

5. 5

   Disconnect power before replacing; remove the rear tub and steam generator as described in the disassembly section.

6. 6

   Reconnect power and rerun diagnostic test mode to confirm error is cleared.
