Also displayed as: tE1

How to Fix

  1. 1

Turn off dryer and unplug from power.

  2. 2

Discharge capacitors: touch metal plug of power cord to ground.

  3. 3

Disconnect connector NA6 from the controller.

  4. 4

Short Pin 5 (Yellow Wire) and Pin 6 (Blue Wire) on the NA6 connector together using a metal wire.

  5. 5

If the controller shows connectivity to the shorted pins, check that the NA6 6-pin connector is properly connected to the controller — if connection is good, replace the controller.

  6. 6

If the short test passes, remove the harness from the thermistor assembly connector and measure resistance between thermistor terminals.

  7. 7

    Compare measured resistance against Table 1: at 50°F (10°C) expect 18.0 kΩ; at 70°F (21°C) expect 9.3 kΩ; at 90°F (32°C) expect 7.7 kΩ; at 100°F (38°C) expect 6.2 kΩ; at 110°F (43°C) expect 5.2 kΩ; at 120°F (49°C) expect 4.3 kΩ; at 130°F (54°C) expect 2.9 kΩ; at 140°F (60°C) expect 3.0 kΩ; at 150°F (66°C) expect 2.5 kΩ; at 160°F (71°C) expect 2.2 kΩ.

  8. 8

If resistance is out of range, replace the thermistor assembly.

  9. 9

If resistance is in range, check and reseat the harness-linking connector between the thermistor and controller.
