How to Fix
- 1
Use LG SVC App Step 1 to measure evaporator temperature and determine if this is a sealed system problem or customer misuse.
- 2
If temperature shows normal operation: check PCB voltage — if PCB voltage is abnormal, replace Main PCB.
- 3
Use SVC App Step 2 to measure high/low side pressure and recovery time. If recovery time is more than 15 minutes: system is restricted. Proceed to restriction check.
- 4
Check equilibrium pressure. If equilibrium pressure is more than 20 psi: compressor is defective — replace compressor.
- 5
If equilibrium pressure is 20 psi or less: refrigerant is leaked — locate and repair leak.
- 6
Charge system with nitrogen (N2) for pressure test. Check low-pressure parts (evaporator, suction pipe) using bubble test or refrigerant leak detector first.
- 7
If leak is found on low-pressure side: replace leaking part plus both drier and compressor (low-pressure side is below atmospheric pressure during leak, so moisture has likely entered).
- 8
If no leak found on low-pressure side: check high-pressure parts (condenser, drier).
- 9
If leak is found on high-pressure side: replace leaking part plus drier.
- 10
If leak location cannot be found: install UV drier and recheck at next service visit.
- 11
After sealed system repair: error code will disappear automatically when freezer temperature drops to 14°F or below.
