What actually causes this:
The switch that detects whether the door is open or closed has worn out or its connection came loose.
First Thing to Check
Open the door, check for anything stuck in the door latch area, then close it firmly and try again.

1. Check if the door sensor unit is loose or shorted

2. Inspect wire harness connections to door switch

3. Test door switch: Door open - COM-NC (pins 1-3) should be < 1 ohm, COM-NO (pins 1-2) should be infinity

4. Test door switch: Door closed - COM-NC (pins 1-3) should be infinity, COM-NO (pins 1-2) should be < 1 ohm

5. If switch readings are inconsistent or invalid, replace door switch
