Heater wire harness disconnected at Main PCB CN70_1 pins 7 and 1; Heater element open circuit or burned out; Heater shorted to ground; Bimetal overheating protector tripped; Main PCB defective

What actually causes this:

Defrost heater element failed or thermal protection activated

Check if the convertible zone has frost accumulation — indicates heater failure

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Unplug refrigerator

  2. 2

    2. Disconnect Main PCB CN70_1 wire from PCB

  3. 3

    3. Measure resistance between CN70_1-7 and CN70_1-1 — normal 63 ohm ± 7%

  4. 4

    4. If 0 ohm: heater is shorted, replace heater

  5. 5

    5. If infinite: wire or bimetal is open, replace heater

  6. 6

    6. If normal: check thermal protector and fuse operation
