What This Means

IPM chip internal failure; Inverter PCB soldering defect causing gate drive failure; Compressor short circuit triggering IPM protection; Inverter cooling inadequate

What actually causes this:

Inverter board component failure or solder joint cracked

Check if compressor compartment is very hot — overheating can damage inverter

How to Fix

  1. 1

    1. Check Inverter PCB for visible solder damage or component overheating

  2. 2

    2. Verify compressor power connectors are tight

  3. 3

    3. Check Compressor compartment fan is running — ensures inverter cooling

  4. 4

    4. Measure DC 15V output from SMPS — must be at least 13.5V

  5. 5

    5. Check for any burnt components on Inverter PCB

  6. 6

    6. If IPM appears damaged, replace Inverter PCB
