Error Code ICE_MAKER_SENSOR_ERROR
Ice maker temperature sensor is faulty or disconnected
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: R LED blinks with Freezer LED (C14/C15 referenced in self-diagnosis)
What This Means
Disconnected or poorly seated connector at MAIN PCB CN91 pins 7 and 12; Open or shorted ice maker sensor (0Ω = short, ∞Ω = open); Solder defect at R925 on PCB; Failed MICOM IC01 pin 14
What actually causes this:
The sensor that tells the ice maker when the ice is frozen and ready to harvest has failed.
First Thing to Check
Reseat connector CN91 on the main board and power-cycle the unit.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check MAIN PCB connector CN91 is fully seated
- 2
Measure voltage between CN91-7 and CN91-12; normal range 4.5V~1.0V
- 3
Check MICOM IC01 pin 14 voltage matches CN91-7/12
- 4
Disconnect CN91 and measure sensor resistance against DATA1 table
- 5
Check solder at R925
- 6
If PCB is normal and sensor is normal, replace ice maker kit
