Error Code C-FAN-ERROR

Condenser fan motor in machine compartment is not spinning

Moderate

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly

Also displayed as: R blinks (condenser fan error — CN40 item 23 in self-diagnosis list)

What This Means

Failed condenser BLDC fan motor; Foreign object or dust blockage in machine compartment; Broken or disconnected wiring at CN40; Supply voltage absent (7–12V DC on CN40 pin 13 to pin 15); Main PCB driver failure

What actually causes this:

The fan at the bottom back of the fridge that cools the compressor and condenser has stopped working — the compressor will overheat.

First Thing to Check

Pull the refrigerator away from the wall and check the grille at the bottom back for heavy dust buildup blocking airflow.

Parts Involved

Condenser fan motor BLDC (DC12V, 1.32W, C160N, Φ160)Main PCBCN40 connector

How to Fix

  1. 1

Measure voltage between CN40 pin 13 (S/BLU) and CN40 pin 15 (W/GRY) — should be 7–12V DC during compressor operation

  2. 2

Check pulse signal on CN40 pin 11 (C-FAN pulse) — should show ~2–3V average

  3. 3

Inspect machine compartment for dust buildup or physical obstructions

  4. 4

If voltage is present but fan does not spin, replace condenser fan motor

  5. 5

If voltage is absent, check PCB relay and trace back to MICOM output
