Error Code COMP-IPM-FAULT
Compressor power module detected an electrical fault
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: F and R blink in sequence — SPM fault pattern
What This Means
Open compressor wire (CN04 phases); Damaged or poorly soldered R1/R2 current sensing resistors on inverter PCB; Failed IPM module; Compressor winding fault; Refrigerant system issue
What actually causes this:
The electronic module that drives the compressor motor has detected a fault — could be the compressor wires, the drive circuit, or the compressor itself.
First Thing to Check
Do not open the unit — call a technician.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check compressor connector CN04 for secure connection
- 2
Measure resistance of R2 on inverter PCB — should be 0.09 Ω
- 3
Inspect all solder joints on Main PCB for shorts or cold joints
- 4
Verify compressor resistance between phases
- 5
If all checks pass, suspect refrigerant system restriction or compressor mechanical failure
