Error Code FREEZER-ICE-PIPE-HEATER-ERROR
Ice delivery pipe heater in the freezer is failed or disconnected
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: F and R blink (freezer ice pipe heater error — item 29 in self-diagnosis list)
What This Means
Failed ice pipe heater element; Open bimetal or thermal fuse in heater circuit; Disconnected CN90 wiring; PCB relay failure
What actually causes this:
The small heater that keeps the ice delivery tube from freezing up has stopped working — the ice chute may become blocked with ice.
First Thing to Check
Check whether ice is dispensing. If it is not, try pressing the ice test switch to see if the ice maker mechanism itself is working.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Disconnect CN90 from Main PCB
- 2
Measure resistance between CN90 pin 1 and pin 5
- 3
Expected: 63 Ω ±7% (120V) or 230 Ω ±7% (230V)
- 4
0 Ω = short; ∞ Ω = open — locate and replace failed component in heater circuit
- 5
If resistance is correct, check PCB output and relay for CN90 circuit
