Your dryer's temperature sensor isn't reading correctly

Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: tC
What This Means
Clogged lint screen restricting airflow; Restricted vent system causing abnormal temperature readings; Thermistor resistance out of range (open or shorted); Faulty wiring to thermistor
What actually causes this:
Usually a clogged lint screen or blocked exhaust vent — restricted airflow causes the sensor to misread temperatures.
First Thing to Check
Pull out the lint screen and clean off all the lint, then check that your exhaust vent hose isn't kinked or blocked.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check and clean the lint screen
- 2
2. Check if the vent system is restricted
- 3
3. Measure thermistor resistance: should be 10K ohm at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F)
- 4
4. If thermistor resistance is out of range (very low or infinity), replace thermistor
- 5
5. Inspect wiring connections to thermistor
