Error Code 1
Freezer temperature sensor has failed or lost connection
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: Error 1
What This Means
Thermistor open circuit or short circuit; Connector CN31-5 or CN31-6 loose or disconnected; Wiring harness damage between sensor and Main PCB; Failed thermistor (502AT type)
What actually causes this:
The thermistor in the freezer has failed, or a wiring connection has come loose, so the control board cannot read the freezer temperature.
First Thing to Check
Open the freezer and look for a disconnected wire connector near the evaporator cover.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check voltage at MAIN PCB CN31-5 to CN31-6: should be between 1.0V and 4.5V
- 2
If voltage is 0V or 5V, disconnect connector and measure thermistor resistance — compare to temperature table
- 3
0 ohm indicates short trouble; infinite ohm indicates open trouble
- 4
Check connector seating at CN31
