What actually causes this:
The sensor that stops the fridge defrost cycle has failed, potentially causing excessive frost buildup or water on shelves.
First Thing to Check
Remove the refrigerator evaporator cover and inspect the defrost sensor and its connector.

Check voltage at MAIN PCB CN30-3 to CN30-4: should be between 1.0V and 4.5V

Disconnect CN30 and measure resistance at pins 3 and 4
