What actually causes this:
The humidity sensor that helps manage door condensation and energy saver mode has failed.
First Thing to Check
Check the combined humidity/ambient sensor module connector inside the refrigerator.

Check voltage at MAIN PCB CN34-4 to CN34-6: should be between 1.0V and 3.5V

Humidity sensor open resistance is approximately 50 ohm
