What This Means

Ice duct heater element failed; Bimetal or thermal fuse open; Wiring open at CN75-2 to CN75-5

What actually causes this:

The heater that prevents ice from clumping in the dispenser chute has failed, which can cause ice jams.

First Thing to Check

Check if ice is clumping or jamming in the dispenser chute — this symptom often accompanies this error.

Parts Involved

Ice duct heater (120/230V)Main PCB CN75 connector

How to Fix

  1. 1

Disconnect MAIN PCB CN75, measure resistance at CN75-2 to CN75-5: should be 63 ohm (115V) or 230 ohm (230V) ±7%

  2. 2

0 ohm = heater short; infinite ohm = wire/bimetal open

  3. 3
