Error Code 85
Compressor inverter detected voltage too low to operate
Critical
Stop using immediately - risk of damage or safety issue
Also displayed as: Error 85
What This Means
Input AC voltage below 53V; Shorted resistor R525 (DC link resistor) on Inverter PCB; Power supply problem
What actually causes this:
The power supply voltage dropped too low for the compressor to run safely, or there is an internal fault in the inverter circuit.
First Thing to Check
Check that the refrigerator is on a dedicated outlet and measure the wall voltage — it should be around 115-120V.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check actual AC input voltage at outlet — should be approximately 115V
- 2
Check resistance of R525 on Inverter PCB (short or open indicates fault)
- 3
Verify wall outlet voltage with a multimeter
This Error Applies To
