Error Code AMBIENT-SENSOR
External room temperature sensor is failed or disconnected
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: R blinks (ambient/external sensor indicator)
What This Means
Failed ambient thermistor; Loose CN60 connector; Damaged wiring; Bad solder at R228 (IC01 MICOM pin 12) on Main PCB
What actually causes this:
The sensor measuring the temperature of the room around the fridge has failed — the control board can no longer optimize fan speed for ambient conditions.
First Thing to Check
Locate the ambient sensor (usually in the machine compartment area) and check the connector seating.
Parts Involved
How to Fix
- 1
Check CN60 connector is fully seated
- 2
Measure voltage between CN60 pin 5 (W/BLU) and CN90 pin 8 — expect 0.6V to 4.6V
- 3
Disconnect and measure resistance at CN60-5 to CN90-8; compare to DATA1 table
- 4
If open or shorted, replace ambient thermistor
- 5
If correct, inspect solder at R228 on PCB
