What This Means

Slipped out sensor housing; Wire cut or short circuit; Temperature reading out of valid range; Defective sensor connection

What actually causes this:

The defrost sensor that monitors the evaporator coil temperature failed or became disconnected

First Thing to Check

Locate the defrost sensor near the freezer evaporator and verify the connector is fully seated

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Check voltage between MAIN PCB CN31 #7 AND #8 (should be 4.5V~1.0V)

  2. 2

    Verify sensor housing position

  3. 3

    Test continuity of sensor wiring
